Conference Week: Ozark Creative Writers

Time has flown by and I find myself getting ready for the Ozark Creative Writers Conference at the end of this week. I’m excited!

My business cards were delivered last week and look better than I expected. I left off a mailing address but included my phone number, email and website. On the back, I used a QR code that links to my short stories. For financial reasons I didn’t create rack cards for my short stories. Overall, I’m pleased with my efforts.

I’ve made sure my wardrobe will be up to snuff for the banquets. Not overly dressy but something other than jeans. The only thing I need to do is buy a new notebook to take notes. I’ve discovered that the ones I have on hand are full or nearly so. What can I say, I’m a note taker.

With my crazy life rearing its ugly head recently, it’s taking extra effort to focus. I’m sure when I get to Eureka Springs, I’ll slip into author mode and will be open to the writing vibe. I signed up for professional reasons, but find I’m needing it for personal reasons too. A getaway with like-minded people sounds like a good prescription for this virus of frustration I’ve been battling.

With a little luck, I may find time to sneak away and get a new tattoo. I’ve been wanting to get one in memory of my dad. Nothing set in stone. Depends on my mood and what’s going on around me.

So, are any of you attending the conference in beautiful Eureka Springs, Arkansas? If so, be sure and look for me. I’d love to connect face to face.
