10 Series I Want to Read

As you might know, I’m currently in the throes of the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin and am loving it. However, I’m nearly finished with A Dance With Dragons and will have to wait quite some time for the next book to be published. While I sometimes long for a good stand-alone book nothing beats a well-developed series. So, here are a few recommended series that are on my wish list.

If you’ve read any of these I’d love to know your opinion. Leave a comment.

Now it’s a possibility that once I begin reading a series I won’t be motivated to finish it. It happens. Some of the above mentioned series have quite a few books in them – time will be a factor in how far I get. Most of these have been on the back burner for me because there are so many good books being released all the time. I’ve been trying to add more classic fiction to my reading diet, but want to keep up with the newer authors as well.

Don’t you wish the only problem we ever had to face was what to read next?

Dresden is great! Every book gets better and the characters become like family. I also enjoyed the Millennium series and the Dragon Tattoo books. A Wrinkle in Time was one of the first fantasy books I read and I never looked back. And Douglas Adams is just too funny.

    • Hi Rose, I’ve heard so many great things about A Wrinkle in Time as well as the Hitchhiker’s books. Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think.

The five Hitchhiker’s books are all great, very funny and full of amazing ideas. Well worth reading. The Larsson books were fairly standard airport thriller type reads, first one was easy to read if a little longwinded at times, but the books got worse as they went. Haven’t read the others.

    • I’ve only heard good things about the Hitchhiker series. I watched the Millennium movies starring Noomi Rapace and loved them. I’ve hesitated to read the books for that reason.

  • Fabulous picks! I just added the Douglas Adams’ series to my Goodreads shelf. I haven’t read them but would like to this year.

    • Let me know what you think after you read them. I can’t decide if I want to start with Adams or Larsson.
