I love connecting with other writers and have been blessed to get to know some really great ones this past year. This week, I introduced my established critique partner with a new critique partner. A wonderful experience.

What makes it even more fun is that we live in three different states. That doesn’t keep us from collaborating and helping each other. Three cheers for the Internet! Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!

That being said, I’ve immersed myself into the second draft of my novel. It’s been both frustrating and exhilarating. I know I need to add things and change others and the suggestions from my CPs have helped me in that aspect. It’s tough to dismantle a paragraph you think is perfect, but you need to explode it into multiple paragraphs to add needed details. Other times you need to completely delete a sentence or paragraph because they serve no real purpose.

Once we get moved, I’ll be even more focused. I want to have this draft finished by July and have something polished enough to shop for an agent by October. As it stands now, I’ve neglected packing to work on my novel. Can’t do that for much longer.

So, what’s going on with you? How is your writing coming along?
